The newest member to join the Carteret County District Attorney’s Office, Walter Evans Kistler, IV, was sworn in as an assistant district attorney earlier this week by District Court Judge Clinton Rowe in a ceremony in district court.

Kistler graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Charlotte School of Law in 2014. After graduation, Kistler opened a private practice in Morehead City.

Kistler said reaching this point in his career was both humbling and exciting.

“It is a proud moment for me, my parents and my daughters. Their support has meant everything to me,” he said. “I am very excited about today and I very much look forward to working in the District Attorney’s office.”

Kistler was joined by his parents Irene and Bud Kistler along with his two daughters, Lily, 12, and Madeline, 9.
