The Beaufort Historical Association (BHA) will hold its annual volunteer training program on Tuesday, March 10, from 9 am until 4 pm at the Beaufort Historic Site, 130 Turner Street.
There are more than 20 types of volunteer roles at the historic site, including working at the Mattie King Davis Art Gallery and giving guided tours of the old jail, circa 1796 county courthouse, and other historic buildings.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to tour the historic homes and buildings of the site, cruise the streets of Beaufort on the double-decker bus, and tour the Old Burying Ground.
There will also be time to meet the BHA staff, hear about different volunteer positions, and get to ask questions about them.
“Whether it is occasional or on a regular basis, we would love to have any and all interested volunteers,” Volunteer Coordinator Denise Finley said.
“Volunteer positions and internships [for] high school and college students are also offered. It’s a great way to meet new friends that you’ll have for a lifetime.”
For more information or to reserve your spot for the training, call 252-728-5225, email [email protected], or stop by the Welcome Center located at 130 Turner Street.
