Storm Debris

The county has expanded space at its usual solid waste convenience sites but will not be opening additional sites or picking up debris. “Due to the lack of county-wide debris, they will not have any additional debris control,” said Public Information Officer Amanda Tesch.

Beaufort has hired a contractor to handle storm debris, which Manager John Day said will allow cleanup to happen more quickly than if the town was to take it on. We’ll make an announcement if a pickup schedule is released. Residents should separate household and vegetative debris and place them in two separate piles by the curb, not in the street.

Lennoxville Boat Ramp Closure

The boat ramp on Lennoxville Road in Beaufort will be closed until December while improvements are being made, including the paving of the parking lot. The project is headed by the NC Wildlife Commission, and an NC Coastal Federation permeable surface grant is included in the budget.
